time has taken most of my time nowadays, packing things in and making everything perfect for graduation next year. for now, I decided to put an end to this blog, even though I have only spent a measly 5 months or so investing some thoughts that I somewhat cared about. just wanted to say thanks to those who gave me input. I might make another one on blogger. If I do, I'll come back and post up the link. goodbye...

Well, I just got through my last student art show. Knowing how things will be goinng next year...yep this has to be the last. I invited some of the Cal Poly Pomona guys, and they never made it. At least I got to hang out with my friends that I see in class everyday. As much as I loved hanging out with people I see everyday, I also wanted some time with the people that don't go to LSU. I guess Mondays are always bad. It's cool, I can accept that. My family came by and looked at my stuff. It's weird how they're so interested in my work! Never really got that kind of attention from them...ever in life. So I guess that was a first. I stuck around watching the indie films that kc and Felipe did. I didn't get it, but the people used in the film were FUNNY!!! Jonathan and I were laughing at this one dude that kept running and was supposed to get hit by a car...but never did. Lucky guy. Then afterwards, I kinda chatted it up with Jose and talked about how life's been treating us. Seems like we're at the same level...of sadness. But we're both determined to get out and make something of ourselves.

Anyway, it was an interesting night. Witnessed my last art show, watched Amelie, chatted...

I need more nights like this

listening to: My Confession by Josh Groban

The Saturday night before I went on the San Francisco/Tahoe/Vegas trip, I watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" with Ann & Mayann. Not only is it an extremely trippy movie, but it's thought inspiring. What if you had the power to erase a memory that you wish you never had register in your brain? What if that memory...was with someone you loved? What if that memory was someone you were in love with? Would you really want to forget who that person is, when in reality, you could always re-introduce yourself? So many questions formulating! But for me, that's what makes an excellent movie. It's one of the many ways I keep things going with my friends...discussing everything about a movie--plot, the use of sound effects, graphics--especially the use of MAYA if it applies, and how everything ties in.

That's one thing I want to do this summer. Get into a class that teaches MAYA so I wouldn't have to be so lost in the Multimedia class in the Fall. Second option for the summer is to join Mai at The Academy of Art and see if I stand a chance continuing after one quarter. Everyone gets in, but after that, it's survival of the fittest...or so Wing Jack tells me. Sounds like fun! I can't wait!

last night was tight! I went out with Mayann, Karla, and Jake to see "The Prince & Me" at Ontario. Ok so the story was kinda pointless, but I saw myself in Juila Stiles shoes and how my life is going. So busy following my map to my goals, that I might really be missing something on a different road. Even though the movie's ending was stupid, I was left with that thought. I really feel like I'm missing out on something great.

My friends and I did more stuff after that, but I'll just end this entry in thought.

I just came back from Topics in Art History where we watched a movie about Maya Lin. She's the architect that designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C, which was a controversial piece of work, but now admired. It's just think it's awesome how some artists can care less about what people say.

As for fabrics, I was able to finish my sketches and dye 2 pieces. Unfortunately I have to resketch my designs for my 2 pieces because the fabric shrunk! I guess I'll be spending Thursday afternoon doing that, since I've been slacking off. But to be honest, I needed to slack off. Been working my fingers off for 4 years with nothing but homework in mind. yeah...geek!

I can't help but notice that I've been thinking about tribal tattoos lately. I mean, I'm not planning on getting one, but I just love the designs. I'll post up a picture when my internet here at school is the opposite of SLOW.
